Updates, etc. For
March 22, 2019
Ok guys I wont be talking your ears off just a few things before we head into April 2019! I cant believe this month is already over, in a way I will be happy however given all the crazy in my life right now. Which is my first talking point… I have been kinda out of touch lately. I know and I deeply apologize for this. However, there are still real life issues that I often have to handle and some of those will require a break from posting. This doesnt mean I wont be back 😊 we are always here for your YA chat and book needs!! Also, while I do appreciate the prayers and the sorries… I think i may handle the greif I am swimming in by not speaking of it. I can not put into words what my grandmother meant to me. She was the most important oeraon in my life besides my son. She was a mother, a grandmother, a friend and a protector and most of all she was ALWAYS there never judging and never doubting my abilities . She was a huge part of my life and for some reason she has gone much much too soon for me too handle. I thought I still had years with her and the last thing I saw her do was smile, that was also the last time she could wrap her arms around me and I just can’t… I’m sorry but this has taken over my mind and my emotions and while I may be absent here and there I am ok and will be. I thank you all for your kind words and understanding at this time.
On a lighter note I was able to do some reading still… I finished Crown of Feathers not to long ago and you find the COF review here as well as my goodreads as you know!! It had taken me a bit to get into, only because of the current events. However I did get to finish it and really enjoyed, I plan to read it again in fact during a lighter time though. I had also finished one of my Netgalley ARCs before COF, titled The Ravens Tale!! Dark rendition of an early Edgar A. Poe and his muse for dark and macabre writing!! I cant wait for this title to hit shelves and have the physical copy ain hand!!
Speaking of ARCs I recently finished The Devouring Gray as well and it was eerily amazing!! Check out the synopsis at the end of this post!! Last but certainly not least… Tgis week was the monthly read with YA Book Club @bookishbossclub (IG) and @BookishBossBookClub (FB)
Their March 2019 read was V. E. Schwabs out of print, first novel… The Near Witch!! I know I certainly loved it and its dark vibes and witches!! Check out the full review for these titles and more here as well as my GoodReads!!
For now Book Dragons… Happy Reading!!
Synopsis for The Devouring Grey by Christine Lynn Herman.
“Fans of The Raven Boys and Stranger Things rejoice: This is your new obsession.”-Claire Legrand, New York Times best-selling author of Furyborn
After the death of her sister, seventeen-year-old Violet Saunders finds herself dragged to Four Paths, New York. Violet may be a newcomer, but she soon learns her mother isn’t: They belong to one of the revered founding families of the town, where stone bells hang above every doorway and danger lurks in the depths of the woods. Justin Hawthorne’s bloodline has protected Four Paths for generations from the Gray-a lifeless dimension that imprisons a brutal monster. After Justin fails to inherit his family’s powers, his mother is determined to keep this humiliation a secret. But Justin can’t let go of the future he was promised and the town he swore to protect. Ever since Harper Carlisle lost her hand to an accident that left her stranded in the Gray for days, she has vowed revenge on the person who abandoned her: Justin Hawthorne. There are ripples of dissent in Four Paths, and Harper seizes an opportunity to take down the Hawthornes and change her destiny-to what extent, even she doesn’t yet know. The Gray is growing stronger every day, and its victims are piling up. When Violet accidentally unleashes the monster, all three must band together with the other Founders to unearth the dark truths behind their families’ abilities… before the Gray devours them all.
