Celebrating Independence Day

We all know that cookouts, family and of course fireworks marks the 4th of July. However I feel like many have forgotten why we celebrate it.

Independence day commemorates what great men and women fought for all these years, The Declaration of Independence. The freedoms we have today, are celebrated by the marking if the 4th of July.

The Declaration was signed July 4th, 1776; the continental congress declared the thirteen american colonies no longer part of British Parliament, free from the British Empire during the American Revolution. The actual vote for the declaration had occurred a mere two days earlier to the actual signing. This was actually guessed by Richard Henry Lee to happen days earlier when he phoned wife Abigail with the prediction. Signing involved the Committee of Five, with Thomas Jefferson as Principal Author and revisionist. The Declaration being a statement to the public and government explaining the decision. It doesn’t seem like much but it meant everything we have and are today.

However, there are other weird markers involving the Committee of Five, and the 4th July. There were several of the committee party, who had become Presidents of the US, and/or died on this day, years later!!!

Makes you wonder why this day was so special throughout these events.Weird right lol?!

This is also a day to celebrate the lives of the men and women who fight to continue these freedoms until this very day!! Thank you!!
